Kait acquired stories by BIPOC creators that weren’t just centered around pain. BIPOC kids deserve books about boys who dance & rhinos on planes. Kait made that happen + much more. There’s nothing I can type that expresses how much of a gift Kait is to ME and to publishing. 🤎
Yesterday my position as Senior Editor at Harper was eliminated. I’m heartbroken and unsure what’s next. But I’m fiercely proud of the work I was able to do, and am inspired by my colleagues, authors & illustrators who see magic in our world and work tirelessly to make it real.📚
