This was such a fascinating interview. Drawing connections I'd never been aware of. The origins of rent controls in anti-colonial struggle. The way the bullshit deregulation housing policies of the current govt were crafted by the IEA. Really looking forward to reading the book!

I have to say I assumed that this tweet would bring to light in the replies at least a few examples of fraud (as opposed to programs people think are a waste of money). But I've read most, though not all, of the 2500 replies, and afaict, not a single example has been mentioned.
I may well have missed it, but I've yet to see DOGE offer a single example of actual fraud, as opposed to examples of the government funding programs people disagree with.

Reading Albert Camus's A Short Guide to Towns Without a Past (French edition 1950) -- new to me, but essays written from 1937 to 1950 in northern Italy and Algeria. @PenguinArchive just released a crisp new edition. I'm used to the dour short stories of Camus assigned in high

In the 60s and 70s, the top graduates from Harvard and Yale were not going to Wall Street. They were going to work for Ralph Nader. 🧵

At last! Presenting about the Long Land War to Scottish historians and Land Commissioners, whose future-oriented visions of using land as a shared resource set me on this path in the first place. Such an honor!! Thank you, University of Glasgow!

Excellent essay from @matthewstoller about the Ivy League, fancy people pushing terrible policies & his own experience waking up. Most people — especially those in politics/media — don’t have the guts to apologize or do any self-reflection. Matt does. https://t.co/8c3mTLlHGM

Anyway, it's super easy to assume that more fossil fuels means more US economic growth, since that's how it used to work, but unfortunately climate change is real and the economics are different now. 14/n
