If anyone’s interested, if I was the Chancellor this is exactly what I’d be doing 👇👇.
One answer would be radical tax reform - for example replacing business rates, stamp duty land tax and council tax with a land value tax. Most people would pay broadly the same tax as before, but those owning valuable land would pay a lot more.

We can debate the pros and cons of electoral reform all we want but one thing that I know it’ll result in is higher turnouts at elections. Turnout breaks 75%+ for countries that have PR. We’ve got to address the lack of agency people feel they have when it comes to politics.
