Perfect segue to tell you that our buddy @BrookHFWillard filmed the Super 8 static fire on a RED Raptor 8K with Xelmus anamorphic lenses lmao. One of the coolest parts of living in LA is meeting people from the actual film industry who casually work with insane gear
Dudes be like "you don't need a fancy camera, the best camera is the one you have" while filming on a camera that costs 500 gorbillion dollars.

Still can't believe this thing worked. Big shout out to @Erdayastronaut and @considercosmos for letting me borrow some fancy cameras for this - there's a LOT of beautiful footage thanks to them π

Thanks to @andrewmccalip and @okthisisnagy for the help! Tons of cool detail inside this motor, itβs gonna make a great video
Los Angeles folks - I have a rocket motor to cross section, but I need help. Itβs 8in diameter, 69.5in long, made of aluminum, phenolic, rubber, and a little graphite. I wanna cut the entire length and a vertical bandsaw could prob work, but I donβt have the tools to do it
