When Google Chat suggests a response close to what I want to say, I click it. I am being trained to talk like everyone else.

Sometimes I feel like "Dr. Google" is the only doctor who actually tries to find out what's wrong.

Why do both "much/little" and "many/few" exist except to trip people up? Is there an X for which "too many X" and "too much X" are both valid and mean different things?

I'm not sure whether it's the algorithm influencing search results, but I can't find neutral or pro-Heard content in the first 10 pages. @openargs is the only reason I know for sure there are even two sides :(

It took me a couple days of watching funny videos of the Depp/Heard trial to realize the algorithm was subscribing me to a propaganda mill :( If I were a frog, my legs would be warm and numb right now.

Mixfix languages might actually be the way to go here: they let you define sentences already anyway.

I keep circling the conclusion that programming languages need to allow spaces in variable names. It's how we think; it should also be how we write. There's got to be a way to make it work without destroying everything else ...

Especially when the bulk of the tutorial becomes "how to get aws lambda instances with more and more memory"

When the first step of an asynchronous csv parser tutorial is "read the entire input stream into memory," we're not off to a great start.

Man, Elden Ring exploration is basically neverending ADHD crack. I had to unplug the Xbox so I can get back to interacting with the family.

Ads have hit on the "subconsciously irritating" method of getting you to pay attention just to figure out what's wrong. Check the audio, which is synced just often enough to make you feel gaslit:

Horizon: Forbidden Wilds is a masterpiece. The story is really interesting, and the mechanics and gameplay tightly integrated into it. The huge amount of "side content" is story rich as well--almost nothing feels "open world redundant."

Why is docker so resistant to letting you reuse dockerfile code in multiple dockerfiles?

And if I'm missing a parentheses, there is no reason it can't figure out where the end of the current statement or block is. It's ridiculous to torch type checking and suggestions for the rest of the file.

Compilers should use indentation to figure out *where* I am missing a bracket, instead of bombing out completely.

Having used it for a couple of hours, the secret seems to be letting the seal curl downwards into your nose rather than lay flat, to catch the air. It seems designed to do this.

#3 could probably be expanded as "check in frequently." You want to let the interviewer decide when they've seen what they wanted, so they can guide you to something else they'd like to see. Interviews are short, help the interviewer make the most of it :)
