I wrote this scouting report in Italian with video/data on Leoni two months ago; here's a quick summary of his profile in English (perhaps worth reading if you're a Liverpool fan):.- he can play as a CB in a back 4 (preferably on the right side), central or wide CB in a back 3/5.

Happy to report that I called Giovanni Leoni as a wonderkid to watch out for this season in this video. Not a huge amount of detail cos I was trying to cram as many players in as I could and keep it short but have a watch here if you like.

Don’t really know what I’m on about now. But Lennon Miller is some player, delighted he’ll be lighting up Serie A this season rather than getting 4 sub appearances for someone like Watford.

Impossible to say really. Cos if they’re good enough, they’re good enough, and the best will always find a way to stand out. That said, the money families would be offered to go to an academy in England early must be hard to turn down.

… it must be much more beneficial just getting minutes at 1st team level early, playing against Scottish Premiership professionals, rather than go to an Academy up against other equally talented kids. Both for development and standing out.

Really like the part about Lennon Miller sticking to the first team pathway at Motherwell rather than jump early to (presumably) the premier league academy system. I’m not a pro coach so I don’t know this, but… .
