Exactly this. I was out in central London this evening and it was absolutely buzzing with people enjoying a great city that is full of life. And it felt very safe.
Pathetic performative cowardice. I mean, it's not even a workable lie. A better one would be to pretend it's only the suburbs which are inhabitable, while the centre is lawless. Which obviously wouldn't be true, either, but at least has some remote connection to the actual areas
