Given how much they tangled, I was happy to see how nice John Tortorella was in response to the death of Larry Brooks.

“8 months ago, the Kennedy Center was a cautionary tale. Today, it’s a case study in how to save a national institution, not by politicizing it, but by remembering what it was meant to be: a celebration of beauty, discipline, and & best of who we are.” https://t.co/valTfwqhDe

It's very funny that Chomsky has spent his whole career critiquing power — as he sees it — yet when he met a financier with the Israeli prime minister on speed dial his first thought was, "Huh. He must be a swell guy." https://t.co/DgsRjZOqnS

Here's some kind of letter of recommendation that Noam Chomsky wrote for his "highly valued friend" Jeffrey Epstein.

Something that strikes me as necessary rn is works on the Puritans written by Protestant historians or political philosophers, instead of theologians. Take their soteriology and piety seriously, but to limit our understanding to those things is to miss who they are.

MW: —Doesn’t care about Epstein’s crimes —Doesn’t care about many of the most interesting and significant reasons Trump might be covering up the files (eg Israel) —He’s just Ahab for ‘getting’ Trump. He’s a bad guide to the Epstein scandal.

A week after appearing at the center of much media attention at Mamdani’s victory party, Hasan Piker gets an unchallenged and promoted write up in Variety writing off israel as “an ethno-fascist state” and saying Gal Gadot is part of a “sexualization” ploy by the Israeli army:

Hasan Piker calls Gal Gadot “a dogsh*t actress” and quips: “She has no business [being at the Oscars] for the crime of what she has done to not only the DC franchise, but really any movie she’s been a part of.” “All jokes aside,” he continued, “Gal Gadot serves an important role

This was brewing for a while but percolated up to the center of conversation. The President doesn’t want to be like Joe, who got roasted over inflation. Politicians often get mugged by reality. Rather than letting the news drip out he decided to spill the beans. ☕️

Some gentle pushback on the great @roddreher! Worked the phones to try and confirm his report that 30-40% of Gen Z GOP staffers in DC are Groypers. Everyone I talked to disagreed. Here are seven well-placed sources from the White House to Capitol Hill. Full report is in @unherd.
