When you’re the only vehicle on the road why do people pull out of their driveway right in front of you! Can’t the assholes wait a few seconds longer till you pass by? I guess the fuck not! Almost hit 2 of them pricks today with the milk tanker!

Yesterday I was trying to give some advice to a new driver and he wouldn’t listen to what I had to say. His words “old man I’ve been driving a truck for 6 months & I’ve got this thing all figured out”. 36 years in trucking & I’m still learning, everyday 🤷♂️

I did a complete 360 on rebuilding the trucking company after the fire, will it work, only time will tell. The farm is a different story with tariffs and the ability to get rid of products quickly. Gonna have to rethink what I plant & how much I plant in 2026

Instead of harvesting soybeans I should’ve just plowed them under. You can’t get rid of them anyway’s.

Sustainability. Self sufficiency. Doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing, be different, take risks that others won’t, challenge yourself and step outside of your comfort zone and the rewards will pay off for you. It worked in trucking & it works in the Ag industry.

What is Grok? It sounds like a drug from the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Inquiring minds want to know.

Just heard about Carroll Fulmer Logistics has closed their doors after 71 years. I used to see their trucks everywhere.

I’m still in AK the burned up shop has been cleaned up and we managed to salvage more than I thought we would. Now we have a “Red Flag Warning” through Saturday, which means the chance of a fast moving wildfire is high. We’re moving the tractor trailers to another area.

You would think that what you pay for insurance that they would cover atleast 75% of everything you pay them to cover. Some of the equipment in my shop the insurance company wouldn’t cover it at all, especially the heavy haul trailers and jeeps. I’m looking for another ins co.

All 8 of the tractors are 6 of the trailers that were in the shop are a total loss. My ‘70 Peterbilt 352 was saved it was parked by the cabin and so was 2 trailers. I meet with the insurance adjuster in the morning. All I have left is 2 @VolvoTrucksNA 780’s on the road. (2 of 2)

Finally made it to my shop in Alaska, it’s 65F here and almost 23 hours of daylight (summer solstice) here. The shop is a total loss, there was very little salvageable, but the new @CornwellTools boxes were burnt on the outside but the tools are untouched by the fire. (1 of 2)

The closest fire department is about 80 miles south of the shop. It hurts to lose something that took you many years to build. I’m at my dairy farm in Michigan now, even if I was there all I could do is watch it burn to the ground. I’m leaving MI for AK in the morning.

My trucking company in Northern Alaska was almost wiped out due to a lightning strike to the shop, which had the majority of the tractors in it (8 of the 10 trucks) 2 of the trucks were on the road. Most of the trailers have been destroyed by the fire. (1 of 2)

This morning I learned about the passing of Lesa “Yo-Yo” Worley. She was a 39 year trucking veteran, who did things her way, she was a true pioneer in trucking and an outlaw trucker. She helped this young guy out a lot and I’ve always respected her. RIP Yo-Yo.

Was at a T/A truckstop over the weekend and I was watching the young drivers parking their tractor trailers, it sure was interesting and it’s a wonder that some of the trailers they were driving between didn’t get hit. Guess I’m old school on how I do things.

My other hometown (Livengood, Alaska) it’s currently -25F feels like-34F and the wind chills could be as low as-60F and there’s 3hrs & 19 minutes of daylight. My drivers are doing a great job & the tractor trailers are running great (no major breakdowns). I do miss living there.
