I'm so excited to be heading to @Macalester next year! I couldn't have done it without my amazing co-chairs, @analisapackham and Kitt Carpenter. I'm so grateful for their guidance and that of my other committee members, @mimimmarcus and @stephenwpatrick.
Congrats to @jessica__kiser for successfully defending her dissertation today! Dr. Kiser will join the faculty at @Macalester next year. We at @VanderbiltEcon are super proud of her accomplishments! ☺️

Cool results by @jessica__kiser at @SEHealthEcon showing that state non-nursing midwifery laws increasing provider choice ⬆️ home births by 20-30%. No detected changes in infant or maternal health outcomes. She’s on the market!

My first paper has found a home @InquiryWEAI! I show that Perinatal Quality Collaboratives improve maternal health by reducing eclampsia and ICU admissions.
In this paper, @jessica_kiser shows that over 20 years, Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (PQCs) have improved health outcomes across states. PQCs have reduced eclampsia and ICU admissions, especially benefiting Black mothers. @WileyEconomics #EconTwitter
