NEW: Trump chose 2 supervisors to run the agency until the Senate could confirm Kash Patel. But the White House goofed on the website and listed the wrong man in charge of the agency. Instead of fixing, officials let it stand and the two men traded titles.

"Trump’s real power on the Hill has always been destructive in nature. He’s someone who blocks things from happening rather than someone who builds consensus" important context to keep in mind from @CatieEdmondson in last weeks 'On Politics' newsletter with @jessbidgood

Brilliant platform leveraging--@jessbidgood says her dream @nytimes OnPolitics newsletter would be a @taylorswift13 interview. "Taylor, I know you’re reading this: When you’ve got something to say about this election, email me."

@nytimes But it's bittersweet to leave the @BostonGlobe, which has been my journalistic home for 5.5 years. There is no better team than @JimPuzzanghera, @LissandraVilla, @TalKopan and our fearless leader @JFKucinich. I will miss you guys so much.

So the Washington Post gutted metro and now DCist and WAMU at a time when DC needs oversight over and accountability from our chaotic local elected leaders more than ever. Cool. This is fine.

Sad news: I am hearing that @dcist is being closed down, and there will be layoffs at @wamu885. This is the second time that DCist has been killed off, but it was back in 2018 that @wamu885 stepped in to revive it.
