Israel's decision to send troops into Lebanon, a sovereign nation, is not a "limited ground operation". It is an invasion. Our government's hypocrisy is on full display. Its failure to defend international law and stand up to Israel is a moral disgrace.

Then there is the description, to the jury, of the five as 'fanatics'. Clearly prejudicial. I know three of them. They are people of the utmost integrity. They speak the truth for us all.

Just a few: even the prosecuting lawyer asked the judge for 'some leeway', showing (as much as they could) their concern about his interventions.

The sentences handed to the five @JustStop_Oil campaigners are utterly disproportionate. Four and five years in prison for peaceful protest? This is what you might expect in Russia or Egypt, not in a supposed democracy.

I'm reeling at the severity of these sentences to peaceful people who tell the truth. The politicising of the judiciary is a signal of fascism. I hope the new attorney general supports an appeal.
