Last year, my father died on my sisters graduation day. His passing deepened my commitment to advocate for a more diverse healthcare workforce. Thrilled to share my latest piece in @statnews on the significance of diverse healthcare leadership teams. https://t.co/MW0oqIYcsp

Terrific piece. A must listen! And ends with the brilliant @paigenong on her work assessing whether health systems have governance to identify and address bias in AI.

Hospitals are using AI to streamline scheduling, read X-rays and predict who needs more care. But there's concern AI could also perpetuate long-standing racial inequities. This week, the challenge of diagnosing racial bias in health care AI. https://t.co/2zAAh0F8LZ

This approach makes white people seem raceless & problematizes Black people's experiences. It perpetuates racism in the med and public health literatures. So we (@jeplatt @MelissaSCreary & Sharon Kardia) turned to anti-racist public health for an alternative approach.
