Former Mayor Sam Adams, attempting a political comeback by running for the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners, loaned his campaign $30,000 on Sept. 17, according to state election records.

We obtained records showing that Port of Coos Bay has awarded ~$220k in contracts to a leader (pictured, right) of the white supremacist group White Lives Matter, which was recently exposed by @CVAgainstFash. Records also show he’s received $ from three other OR gov’t bodies 1/

Here’s the thing - if you can’t realize that financial circumstances play a HUGE role in a disabled persons ability to survive…. You’re not paying attention. If you don’t realize the huge role privilege plays in maintaining good health - you’re kidding yourself /2

I depend on telehealth. I have a lot of Dr appointments and it would be difficult to keep my job and constantly be running to and from the hospital. My dietician (one of the only ones in my state who deals with GI issues) is hours away.

Do you use telehealth? Does someone you care about? This is your weekly reminder that Americans are on course to lose telehealth access at the end of this year. There are 3 bills in the House & 1 in the Senate to extend, but they haven't budged. *Call your MoCs* - link below.

There’s a lot of reasons why I will always fight against forced treatment of any kind - as we head into our mayoral and city council race I think it’s important to keep the facts in mind.

“Compelled treatment” has been attempted repeatedly x years. It not only does not reduce drug use but is associated with worse outcomes than doing nothing at all. Autumn thinks denying facts & taking away basic autonomy is “love.” Autumn’s ignorance has no place in public office.

The majority of Americans currently could not access drug treatment if they wanted it (not to mention much of what’s available is not evidence-based, even predatory). Sending police to pick them all up won’t fix anything. And who will pay for this mandated treatment for everyone?

I have multiple chronic conditions but I’m super privileged - I recently went to see a Dr in NYC for a second opinion, and the difference in how I was treated was shocking. I was lucky to establish care with OHSU when I first moved to PDX, but it’s gotten so much worse.

OHSU underpays physicians, nurses, and other staff and then complains when they go elsewhere. They’ve lost entire clinics. I had to involve a patient advocate just to see someone with an MD - it took months. Buying legacy is not going to fix this.

Begging any news outlet to ask patients what this is doing to our care. OHSU has become an absolute nightmare to deal with. I was on hold for an hour the other day hearing over and over about “unforeseen staffing shortages” like I don’t know why I can’t get through.

By combining, the two hospital systems aim to find economies of scale. But a document sent to OHSU leaders indicates that the deal won’t provide an immediate solution.

The women at the vets office today said they wished Obadiah loved them as much as they love him and I had to tell them he does love them, but in places where he’s gotten treats he can’t focus on anything other than getting treats.

Legalizing more housing in urban areas is also important for climate resilience because as people continue to get displaced by extreme heat and wildfires, they are going to need somewhere to go!

A really good way to reduce emissions is to legalize more housing in the neighborhoods with the best transit, ped, and bike infrastructure so more people can live without cars 👀

Portland's climate emergency work plan, adopted in 2022, contains 47 actions to reduce emissions citywide. Only two actions have been achieved so far. The city says to expect more accomplishments this year and beyond, but skeptics want more details. https://t.co/e5bHGz8dx2
