In a four-year period from 2016 to 2020, 882 veterans died by suicide in Michigan, an average of 176 suicides a year. My bill empowers us to take action and stand up for Michigan’s service members and veterans.

Today we passed my House Bill 5276, which statutorily establishes an Office of Mental Health and Prevention within the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency. This agency is incredibly important and needed to provide support for more than 530,000 military veterans and their families.
