Hello twitter friends. If you are interested in commenting on our research, please do! We've done 7 big studies since the 2024 election. We don't post as much here these days for obvious reasons, like having to drop a link in the thread because algorithm. So:

I probably would have rolled my eyes at this tweet in January, but it’s important to stay open minded to findings from new (high quality) data that comes out that may not necessarily align with your priors. A lot of the leading voices in the party suffer from confirmation bias.
I’m becoming increasingly amenable to the argument that the 2028 Dem nominee should be someone from the left side of the party (though not super far left) running on a message of progressive economic populism & radically expanded healthcare access Not necessarily further center

I think it’s important to revisit your priors after an election to see where reality diverged. It helps to learn and grow. My priors for Trump vs. Harris were pretty far off in many cases and I was nervous about making a prediction this time But let’s take it piece by piece: 🧵
I'll be making my final NYC mayoral primary prediction tomorrow AM, but first I want to go into 10 assumptions I am making going into it. Many will be wrong (inevitable), but wanted to share ahead of time for the sake of transparency. In no particular order: (🧵)

Police just arrested an 80-year-old veteran protesting Trump’s wasteful military parade. Despicable.

ken prob shouldnt have said it aloud. but leaking it was shitty. politics is fucking hard — the stakes are dire, systems are broken & the work often feels impossible ive questioned it, most operatives likely have. but we lament, then stay. bc it matters. its hard bc it matters.

Ya think?
Californians pay the bills for the federal government. We pay over $80 BILLION more in taxes than we get back. Maybe it’s time to cut that off, @realDonaldTrump.

Kat is the real deal!
ok but this campaign launch from @abughazalehkat ?! THIS is how you announce you’re running for office in 2025. refreshingly honest, clear-eyed, deeply values-driven — and actually exciting in a way politics rarely is anymore. (unsurprisingly) so, so good. 🧵👇

NEW Natalie Harp, one of President-elect Trump’s closest aides who takes loyalty to a whole new level, is expected to join him in the White House. In this clip, Trump can be seen dictating social media posts to Harp while watching Kamala Harris’ speech at the DNC Convention.

My opening statement at last night's final candidate forum. If I'm DNC chair, we will fight back with the intensity, focus, and fury this moment demands.

Senate Democrats boycott vote to advance Russ Vought’s nomination amid chaos caused by federal funding freeze
During the first week of Trump 2.0, too many elected Dems have been silent. They seem to be waiting for the exact right message. But if there is one lesson from the Trump era, it’s this: when it comes to messaging, volume and frequency are vastly more important than precision.

At risk of getting sucked into another Offline appearance, you can’t tell this story by focusing solely on the left or Democrats. From the Tea Party wave to Trump to Abbot's unprecedented stunt, the GOP pivoted to obstructing nearly every effort to provide status to 11 million
Yup! Dems had a very popular message and policy on immigration. But thanks to a small group of activists who never represented most Latinos or immigrants, this is what happened when Biden used the same exact language in 2020:
