SLPS has a hard choice. Right size the district or burn through cash until they either run out of money or dramatically increase our property taxes to prop up a failing district. Doing nothing means by default, they have chosen the latter.

We (and I include myself) want our doctors and hospitals to heal what’s wrong with us no matter how sick we are. Reasonable. But, how do we expect that to happen if we haphazardly slash medical research and tell genius doctors from other countries they’re not welcome? Leeches?

Most of us assume that electing local school boards assures proper oversight and accountability. But, an analysis at (the) Ohio State University found there are not enough good candidates, turnover is high, resulting in low accountability.
