✅ A hybrid human-AI model may offer a safe, efficient, and equitable path for multilingual patient translations in healthcare.

🏥 Human-in-the-loop translations were most frequently preferred by linguists, clinicians, and caregivers (46.5% vs. 28.4%).

💡 But when professional linguists post-edited AI translations, results matched or outperformed professional-only work—and were completed >2x faster!

⚖️ ChatGPT-4o alone performed unevenly—especially for underrepresented languages like Armenian and Somali.

🔍 We compared ChatGPT-4o, professional linguists, and GPT+professional (human-in-the-loop) translations for Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Chinese, Somali, and Spanish.
