The conf. title games were borderline unwatchable. Almost every other play was interrupted by commentary that had nothing to do with the game at hand. Just call the game! Fine to discuss big picture every now and again but yesterday was incessant.

It would also eliminate the nauseating lobbying from teams, conferences, coaches, players, boosters, pundits, etc, etc. The sport shouldn’t be driven by narrative peddling, and the committee ought to be insulated from that.

Example: Hunter Yurachek‘s explanation for jumping Bama over ND was: Bama scored the first 17 points against 5-6 Auburn, only to blow the lead, and have to make a “gutsy” 4th down call to win the game. Uhhh what?

The weekly rankings is lose-lose for the committee. They box themselves into an intellectual corners week in & week out and then look like clowns attempting to defend things that make no sense.

The final set of rankings is the only one that means anything. Committee sits down once, hashes it out, sets the rankings & has to explain their reasoning once.

ESPN executives & the CFP leaders should do the right thing and come to some agreement to eliminate the weekly rankings show. It is a worthless dog and pony show that does NOT serve the fan.

They must’ve been re-watching that game during the SECCG where Alabama crossed midfield twice & netted-3 rushing yards
Hunter Yurachek says when the CFP committee rewatched Notre Dame vs. Miami, the Hurricanes' defense holding Jeremiyah Love to 33 yards and the Irish not being able to hang with the Canes' wide receivers stood out. "There was a little more athleticism on the side of Miami."

Next season, I would like the committee to tell us which conference championship games matter, prior to them being played

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. If conference title games don’t matter, then don’t play them. This is ridiculous.
Alabama should still make the College Football Playoff even with a loss to Georgia ... no matter the score. The Crimson Tide played their way into the conference title game of the toughest conference in the country. It can't be penalized for playing its way into a loss.

I don't disagree with Bama being ahead of ND, but that should've happened after Week 12. Just makes zero sense for the cmte to jump Bama over ND after this weekend. Feels like the cmte is protecting Bama no matter what happens in the SECCG.
It’s laughable that the committee cites Alabama being up 17-0 on Auburn in the first half & running well as the thing that “convinced” the members to have them jump Notre Dame. … but they don’t mention Bama blowing the lead & nearly losing to a team that’s not bowl eligible…
