The Internet is broken. There is so much generated media, indistinguishable from real footage, that is obviously fake due to context. Soon that will fade, and anything AI generated will be credible. Our access to empirical knowledge of the physical world via video is ending.

I've always been a fan of Android, as I like big screens and one-handed operation. The latest OneUI update destroys usability, and makes no sense to me at all, and I can't use only one hand, and can't configure away the pain points. Thumbs down.

When journos classify "billionaires" they miss that: 1- It is paper valuation. If they were able to liquidate, they may no longer be billionaires, as prices are sensitive to a large supply. 2- If they managed to sell, they will owe capital gains taxes. 3- Sometimes, as with PE

We think that all memory is stored in the brain. But our study published today in @NatureComms shows that all cells—even kidney cells—can count, detect patterns, store memories, and do so similarly to brain cells. My first (co)corresponding author paper!🧵 https://t.co/biaahYiPRW

On the upside, the next four years are going to validate whether our perceptions going in are aligned with reality or are distorted beyond reason. A fish can't see water.

My favorite description of a large language model was accidentally written by Ray Bradbury in 1969, more than half a century ago, and it's eerie how fitting its rendition of an emergent language mind is: Suppose and then suppose and then suppose That wires on the far-slung

The single biggest question in the world right now is: How is Elon Musk so effective? Marc Andreessen gives some nice personal anecdotes of what he's seen Elon do.

There used to be a thing called Public Trust. But we stopped holding people and institutions accountable for breaching that trust. Now there is no common public trust. In anything.
