I'm reminded that one issue close to George's heart, as the son of Russian immigrants, was doing what he could to help Russia's economic transformation in the 1990s. IC2 hosted a conference in 1999 with Los Alamos to find ways to partner with Russia's nuclear cities (1/2).

Same goes for those lighting up the exterior of their homes purely for decoration.
Zoom in. Do you see those gas lamps at the front of his house that are going fullbore even though it is daylight outside? Texans are adding gas lamps for decorative reasons on the outside of their houses. That seems like in egregious waste of energy, money, and CO2 emissions.
