So today marks 4 weeks since I started my new job outside of teaching. I just wanted to share some thoughts on how I am feeling about life post teaching. This post is mostly targeted for those who are considering leaving teaching.

I'm sick AGAIN and I can totally see how the plague wiped out half of Europe cos honestly, this dense population shit is doing me no favours. I rarely got sick before. 3rd time in like 5 months. Over it.

The picnic I had today was pretty epic.

Chairs are comfy, and the view is nice. But the fact that nothing works and I have the most self absorbed family sitting near me is leaving me permanently annoyed. I have Bose noise cancelling headphones on, with rain/white noise playing, and I can STILL hear their phones. Wtf.

Thoughts from the Thalys Amsterdam to Paris. - use headphones. We don't all need to hear your tiktoks or French daytime dramas blasting from your phone - don't rely on anything working. Both vending machines are out, and the wifi sucks. - 1st class is $ and not really worth it

This isn't a judgey post either it's just an acknowledgement of how difficult travelling with kids is- I see you. I know it's hard but just seeing this couple juggle all their shit stressed me out so I can't imagine how they'd feel, being the ones to actually do it.

Saaaaame. Ever since the dx I've felt a bit hurt that everyone close to me just thought I was a bit shit and never thought to see if if was something external rather than just labelling me a lazy, careless, mess of a human.

I'm at Amsterdam Airport and am sat in the food court near the kids section and lemme tell you. Travelling with kids looks like a fkn nightmare. So many prepacked snacks and containers to juggle, toys, blankets and spare everything. Fucking hell. No thanks.

I've discovered that, in lieu of taking my ADHD meds (cos I've moved overseas & haven't figured out how to get more yet) when I start to feel my exec function slip I can just drink copious filter coffee across the morning. Super healthy. But it's better than being so confused.

I've ended up just using @Wise which is def easier but even that is being annoying BC they have to verify my account and make sure the money is coming where I say it is or sth? FFS I just wanna pay for stuff, it's such a mission here...

I also cannot figure out wtf my bank even wants when trying to do an international transfer. So many specific numbers and account names have to be included in some magic order, and the person you're paying never gives you their details in the way you bank needs.

Which is sometimes more expensive, or you miss out on upgrades etc cos you didn't book direct. I can't buy my Mum flowers in Australia for mother's Day cos maestro cards can only be used in the EU, and only where iDeal payments are accepted, which isn't anywhere outside of NL.
