Hmm.. I looked it up. The word spitfire means quick-tempered. I always took it as meaning something closer to “spunky.” I’m guessing the teacher meant it that way, because the granddaughter isn’t easily angered.

My daughter reported that the teacher called my granddaughter a spitfire at the conference. “I wouldn’t use that word to describe her,” she said. Really? Because if you look it up in the dictionary, you’ll see that child’s photo as the definition.
