Grateful to be included in this new research by @drqpham. I learned so much about ethnoracial biases in clinical support tools, and how such biases may be worsened by more-sophisticated models. I hope this paper sparks discussion of how (and for whom) these tools are designed.
At this unprecedented time in history, AI can either mitigate or exacerbate disparities in health care. The stories we'll tell of the infancy of diabetes AI must reflect our early and decisive action to confront ethnoracial inequities. #BlackHistoryMonth .

🚨 Breaking News 🚨.Mocking and blatantly dismissing the COVID-19 pandemic does not appear to eliminate one's risk. More to come.
NBA is suspending its season “until further notice” after Rudy Gobert of Jazz reportedly contracted the #coronavirus. What has make it worse is that he deliberately touched all the mics a few days ago during a press briefing to tell the public that the disease was not a big deal.
