"I want to work somewhere that values building things more than running meetings, where the founders are still running the company, and there's a small enough number of engineers that you can get things done by talking to people." — a programmer I'm introducing to startups

In a technology-enabled service provider, $1mm of revenue is not the mark of Product-Market Fit. >50% variable margin is. https://t.co/jXI2oC2S9H Video: https://t.co/fidp7bUinm

1/ A thread on "founder types" & how to hire those who complement you There are no "exact types" of founders but to simplify: A framework I think most founders broadly fall into: 1. Product centric 2. Tech centric 3. Customer centric It helps to figure out which you have / are

Apple really perfected the timing to juice excess Mac upgrades. First, they finally fix the laptop keyboards after half a decade of torment. Then they wait as everyone desperately upgrades such that they can type again. Second, they roll out the M1 revolution...

A couple Slack themes based on Dieter Rams colour palettes https://t.co/szaXO8sRnZ. Copy-paste the hex codes into a Slack message and you can switch to that theme. Enjoy!

Here's one thing they don't tell you about perf reviews, career ladders, promos, etc. Do everything by the book, tie yourself in knots to get the work done _and_ check all the boxes, and all you get is a marginal increase in comp.

Wow. I've been working in a part of the house that sometimes drops me to 2.4GHz. Finally found a way to force my macbook to use 5GHz. Went from speeds of 16Mbps to 230Mbps+. Now I can force my LG tv to also do the same.

I have an Asus RT-AX88U with the Merlin firmware. My LG TV usually connects to 2.4Ghz and then it has bandwidth issues when streaming locally stored 4K movies. Is there a way to force this...

One of the keys to success is communicating how hard something is going to be from the beginning, which Jeff Bezos explains well

Most founders can’t read a P&L and balance sheet. This is like flying a plane without understanding how to read the altimeter and fuel gauge. (That’s bad.)
