Building particle editor for #Bevy and Hanabi. So far I'm very happy with gpui library by @zeddotdev. It's not yet fully connected to the Hanabi asset type (so no updates in the viewer just yet), but I believe all the core widgets are complete. #gamedev #gui #vfx

Lighting shader for objects. The light is just a sprite; the shader checks if it’s in front or behind and adjusts brightness. The shadow is a sprite too. The tree is flat, of course. #pixelart #ドット絵 #unity #ShaderGraph #indiedev

One of the immediate benefits of the new z-ordering system is that with sorting groups, it's easy to implement an item dropping animation system by attaching a pivot point to the shadow on the ground to sort of fake altitude. Now planks are always drawn in front of trees #gamedev

New ergonomic z-ordering system should help to fix a lot of visual glitches reported during the playtest. Finally refactored one of the ugliest and oldest components of Jarl code. New code is based on layers, static/dynamic sorting groups and pivot points. #gamedev #2d #pixelart
