Easily one of the most rewarding days ever at my job, getting to put my picture-hanging skills to work!.
Sometimes a what you thought was a three bedroom is actually two, thank you to everyone from the Legal Services Corporation who came out this Monday and who helped fit 6 beds into this tiny two bedroom!. #refugees #refugeeswelcome #withrefugees #homesnotborders #volunteers

Proud of my oldest for participating in this and his teachers for their support. ❤️.
I’d guess more than a hundred students have walked out of HB Woodlawn in Arlington in protest of a proposed state policy restricting trans rights. These students join the 1000+ who’ve walked out across Virginia so far today.

Today’s character building: boys saw a fav author @SutherlandTui at the @librarycongress #natbookfest and waited in line 2 hours only to have line cut off just ahead of us. Sent home with no autographs. There were tears. But boys were champs anyway. ❤️

It’s been a rough lead up to school and first few days in our home. Hopefully things will improve soon as the routine settles in. Summer’s inconsistency and lack of routine was a roller coaster of emotional dysregulation.

I know that Trump admininstration witnesses are the whole reason the hearings work, but it's maddening to hear that THIS was their breaking point, after four years of criminality & corruption (HEY, IT FELT LIKE 8!).

This breaks my heart. But I’m grateful for churches like this.
We had anti abortion and anti LGTBQ protesters shouting at members walking in our church today. “Repent” they said. It was all so weird and sad. And I am proud of my brave church for just moving along. We worshipped. We sang. We loved.
