Not everybody embraces Freedom as a lifestyle. Some people love being told what to do. Usually brought on by some traumatic experience that has them surrender their freedoms for safety. You can argue why this is not good, but the fact remains that this is what they choose.
For a good book on the topic of how and why people like being controlled, read “Rule Makers, Rule Breakers.” The author explains in great detail the mindset of Rule Makers and Rule Followers, why they are the way they are, and what lead to them being this way.

It became quite clear within a few months that Kenney’s function was not to get a better deal for Alberta, but to stop any further talk of separation and independence. Kenney never acted as the representative of Alberta, but as Ottawa’s governor for Alberta.
Former Alberta premier @jkenney will join speakers at Liberal-affiliated Ottawa think tank to discuss “national progress” at $470 a ticket. @Canada2020 was formerly chaired by Mark Carney. @YourAlberta #abpoli #cdnpoli

As dumb as it sound, but, perhaps people need a wilderness course. It sounds stupid, but, this entire moment in time is stupid, and there is a complete lack of common sense. People really do some stupid stuff, and don’t learn the basics anymore.
@griercoppins I am okay giving people severe tickets for breaking fire bans, or operating vehicles a fire ban zone. Punish the people who actually put others at a quantifiable risk. Else than that, educate, educate, educate.

I don’t know about the rest of Alberta, but up here, it’s been a very wet year. Unusually wet. Right now, we are having a sudden downpour the likes of which I am not used to in August. Almost typhoon like. My pants were soaked within 30 seconds. And this is rainfall #3. Today!.

I will go full-on draconian on anybody who commits arson. It’s a horrible crime that has the potential to cause millions in damages, and is far more dangerous that a firearm. I have seen what damage it does, and I would show no pity for anybody who does it.
@C25216702C @BethCharron1 I would charge him with 30 counts of attempted murder. I live on a farm. Fires kill people, burn down houses with lifetimes of memories, or at least kill lifestock. $3000 cow, $10M tractor. Many don’t have insurance because we can’t afford it.

The worst part is not that such an abomination of a law was passed, but that there are actually Canadians who defend this violation of basic freedoms. Does walking in the woods cause fires? No. In Alberta, we have fire bans. They work, while preserving basic rights.
Evidently, "Being Canadian" means all but slandering the CEO of Canada’s most successful modern company, and continuing the decades-long tradition of selective Liberal ethics, after serving as a Saudi oil lobbyist. But hey, elbows up — and hiking boots off — 'Team Canada.'
