One thing I’m seeing.. Kids who are on strike are creating small businesses. Yard cleanup, babysitting, tutoring. It’s great to see! They will learn more from this than they would in school.

I’ve never seen Amazon open a rec center, but I’ve seen Suncor open one. I’ve never seen a “renewable energy” company build a University Complex but I’ve seen CNRL build one. Ive never seen Mastercard build housing for residents, including indigenous, but I’ve seen Cenovus
Oil companies don’t have to do this. They do this because employees and oil company culture creates lasting communities. Even when oil is worth nothing you can still pull community sponsorships out of these companies, they take on monster projects with their own resources. 👏
