Still much to do, and I'm incredibly grateful for the support and energy of everyone who is trying to help us regain our globally-leading position.
Pleased to see HM Govt is keeping up momentum on my Clinical Trials Review, including the ‘double-doubling’ ambition. MHRA is performing much better, moving to a national approach to contracting and costing, and the number of industry-sponsored trials in the UK is growing again.

I'm sorry to hear about your patient @DrEmmaSearle. This is the human cost of the UK's underperformance in clinical trials & underlines the urgent need to fix the system and dramatically increase the number of trials available in the NHS
I love my job but today was hard: telling a patient who will die of his cancer that I can’t offer a promising clinical trial because an amendment has been stuck with the MHRA since March. This is not good enough and I wonder if my MP would like to come to my clinic and explain?
