5️⃣ Cost of Living 💸 SF is expensive. Housing, food, everyday goods, all cost significantly more than London (sometimes double). It’s a huge factor when hiring, which is why many SF startups hire overseas.

4️⃣ Fantastic Support Network SF has the capital and the community. Everyone’s open, helpful, and genuinely wants others to succeed. In the UK, we’re a bit more passive, and I found SF’s support for founders is unmatched. Make sure you help others too. Favours bring favours!

3️⃣ America First 🇺🇸 Many US VCs will only invest in US-based companies. That’s often driven by their LPs or institutional investors. “Flipping” your company to the US isn’t too hard, and there are plenty of firms that can help, such as @alma_try

2️⃣ Capital Rich SF is overflowing with both human and financial capital. VC firms are everywhere, but so are startups, so standing out is the new challenge. The talent density is like nowhere else. Go to co-working spaces to meet lots of interesting people.

1️⃣ Unparalleled Networking Every single day in SF, there are lots of events for founders and startups. AI, robotics, frontier tech...the energy is unreal. If you’re looking for partners, talent, or investors, there’s simply nowhere like SF. Checkout @StartupGrind and @foundersbay
