Same cinematographer as Dog Day Afternoon, Mikey and Nicky, The Gambler, and The Friends of Eddie Coyle. Studio films no matter what were shot by seasoned veterans to make sure every shot was consistent. The studios didn’t have the disdain for audiences that they do now.
I’m not saying studio films look terrible now but I saw five minutes of Jingle All The Way and it looked like an Eric Rohmer film

This NBA finals was right before I moved away from San Antonio. I’ve never seen a city more unified behind a professional sports team. It was incredible. You couldn’t drive anywhere without seeing cars flying flags.
