New set is upon us and it is a weird one. Small set with 5 supported color pairs. And a ton of legendary creatures. Let's have an honest chat on how can this impact the draft environment and what are the risks of this strategy by looking at pack collation and the spoiler. 1/10

I received my EoE Play Booster Arena Direct Winner Confirmation email for September, but not August yet. I know someone else in the exact same situation. Has anyone received an email regarding their August EoE Play Booster winnings?

Cleanest 7-0 possible and would have been embarrassed with any other result. Box count: 9

Note that I'm not counting my playing time as I fucking love limited, but just the time it'll take to sell them, which I decidedly do not fucking love. Props to the Arena team for getting the box count back. If you're going to run a casino, at least let people see their wins.

As always, do as I say, not as I do. 😏 Boxes 6+7 on one of the most busted pools I've opened, even if I had to play a little chaff to get it there. I should make ~$300 profit on them subtracting entry fees ($300 in so far), taxes (~$250), my time, and a 15% rake from TCGplayer.
Arena Direct is the new casino for Magic players and WotC is laughing all the way to the bank. Let’s break down the psychology they use against casuals while pros keep walking away with cases of boxes:

Arena Direct is a perfect machine: Casuals chase the dream of luck. Pros farm value. Wizards skims the rake. It’s not broken. It's been built this way over years and now they're happy to run it as much as you'll pay in.

4. Mixed Pools = Maximum Churn No 5-0 bracket, no 1-4 bracket. Welcome to the bucket, crabs: everyone in one pot. You'd notice if matchmaking every took longer than 8 seconds. But it doesn't. Because they're printing money.

3. Social Proof Someone posts a pic of those 17 sealed boxes they “farmed.” Casuals see that and think: “Okay but I got one in me, right?” Same energy as casinos blasting jackpot winners. https://t.co/rT9JoVojy5
Friendly reminder: MTG Ambassadors are being paid by the casino to show you how great slot machines are. "Look how great I did!" they say, playing for free. By the time YOU play the slot machine, it pays out quarters instead of dollars. As a wise man once said, "Buy singles."

2. Loss Aversion Billy/Vampire JUST missed 6 wins. Never drew their bomb they splashed miserably for. The brain says: “One more run, I can’t quit now.” Sunk cost gets them another trip to the gem tab.

1. The Lottery Effect Casual players think: “If I run hot once, I win a whole box.” Pros think: “My skill makes this positive EV.” Same prize. Two different hooks. Guess who nets in the end?

As someone from Colorado who has had a few people ask, no, I had no idea about Space Command being located here. B/c I live in Denver. Colorado Springs, formerly Rocket City, is the only major city in our state that votes Trump. He just took a billion in revenue from them. 🤡
