I have zero sympathy for Wizards in regards to Nadu. Wizards literally is the god of Magic. They cancel rotations as they please, turn pro tours in MPLs with a wave of the hand and turn proxies into $1000 booster packs. They are omnipotent, but can't ban Nadu off-schedule?.

A lot of people seem confused by Arcane Signet being called a "mistake" by Wizards. The mistake is that Signet goes in every deck. The more auto-includes that are printed, the smaller and less diverse each Commander deck becomes. Rather than 100 cards, it's 99 + Signet, etc.

Demonic Tutor was originally on the Reserved List until Wizards removed it (along with other Alpha/Beta c/u) due to "overwhelming public support." Every time you cast a $30 Demonic Tutor in Commander game, it's proof that the Reserved List can change and we can change it.

Yesterday was the perfect example of why releasing exclusive cards in time limited Secret Lairs is horrible for players. The promise to quickly reprint the cards is gone and the Marvel drops/cards are already selling for $100+ on the secondary market. What a disaster.

This post literally blew my mind. TLDR: Wizards might kill Magic in their pursuit of cash. They are printing too many cards. The game is getting too expensive. New cards aren't well balanced and OP which leads to bannings. Wizards need to slow down. (It's from 1994).

Pretty sure 30th Anniversary Edition is the first time I've hoped for a Magic product to fail. Usually I just write off some products as not for me and hope that other people enjoy them, but in this case I'd be thrilled if it sold zero copies, although I'm sure that won't happen.

The more I think about it the more I'm convinced that Mystery Boosters are basically Unfinity done right. You get good reprints with unique treatments as a selling point mixed with goofy, fun (not tournament legal) playtest cards, but without all the baggage of unsets & acorns.

It's kind of hilarious how problematic Nadu's design is. Somehow it managed to be overpowered like Hogaak while also causing super long non-deterministic combo turns like Eggs and also having major tracking issues. Any one of those things is bad, but all three on one card?.

It's absurd that Commander is the most popular way to play Magic and there isn't really a way to fully play it digitally. Arena can't support multiplayer and MTGO doesn't have the will to add Commander cards. Have to think Wizards is missing out on a lot of potential profit here.

Getting mana screwed is a feature of Magic, not a bug and trying to hard to eliminate mana screw/flood has potential to be more harmful to the game than the occasional non-game due to mana issues.

The number of unwritten rules in Commander that you are expected to follow but aren't enforced by the ban list or rules is probably my least favorite part of the format. It's like Commander is a bunch of 80 year old baseball fans that throw a fit when someone flips a bat.
