These observations will help us to understand wave generation inside of hurricanes. Our end goal, together with our project partners, is to improve forecasts for when and where hurricane-generated waves will impact the coasts. (2/2)

As part of @thenopp Hurricane Coastal Impacts project, I flew with the @USNRL Scientific Development Squadron (VXS-1) on Monday to deploy 20 wave buoys ahead of Hurricane Ian, including 5 of the microSWIFTs buoys developed by our team at @UW-APL. (1/2)
