In Vashti Bunyan’s Wayward I came across the concept of ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ dogs, which I pursued to the back teeth of the internet (where people see their dead dogs in cloud formations) because I’ve now had two. I hopefully did them proud in @thetimes

Her childhood companion, Hendrix, saw Jade Angeles Fitton through family breakdown. It would be years before she risked the heartbreak of another pet

Thank you @Laurenrbrown95 for this wonderful piece in @thebookseller announcing the launch of my fledgling small press, CONDUIT BOOKS. Wish me luck...

Today I shall mostly be the subject of a gigantic cosmic joke and I am determined to find it funny. Tips welcome.

Oh my god I actually bothered to sort out my ALCS profile last year and…if you haven’t…do. You might get a very nice little surprise in your bank! https://t.co/rnrpk75eWF

Exciting to be able to talk publicly about this, which I’ve recently typeset for @FaberBooks: a new anniversary hardback of Plath’s Ariel (1965), lovingly recreated in Perpetua type and the original old-school-Faber layout! I’m rather proud of this one. https://t.co/DfSkPTdKsC

It is sixty years since Ariel was first published. This heritage edition restores Berthold Wolpe’s iconic jacket and reproduces the original distinctive typesetting.

At this point I’m wondering if anyone who’s ever had a book published has not found theirs on the LibGen search?

I’m going back to Rome, this time with my husband. Last time, I remember wandering into a church, (sand/lime) stone, pretty spartan, no murals or frescos, with a domed ceiling with a hole to the sky. It wasn’t the Pantheon, does anyone know what it is?

Blue morning. Working on the bedroom windowsill today, accompanied by the quarrel of sparrows in the eves. Dawn gun shots on one of the farms in the distance. Skylarks singing in the cow field.

Listened to this Short Works while driving yesterday and it was such a fantastic piece of writing (brilliantly delivered by Carl Prekopp) I couldn’t wait to find out who had written it. Only to discover it’s my mate Tom Vowler. It’s so worth a listen! https://t.co/afJfXTZp6K

After an exhaustion-related meltdown at the end of last year someone wise said I needed to rest my brain and escape into romance. “I’m reading Rebecca,” I replied. “Not Rebecca.” Whenever I’ve had time I took that mission seriously. Also, not pictured, loved @alex_j_allison GOAT
