But the craziest thing? The Duncans also have a stake in Wanderers rivals Sydney FC, with Glenn a director of Aquarius Equity Pty Ltd. It's only small, but it will be interesting to see where the Duncan loyalties lie tonight. CommBank Stadium is SOLD OUT for the derby.

Happy A-Leagues day, please enjoy 1000 words on the competition's past, present and future. Written with love. my first job in sport journalism (before I went into law/public service/politics) was on the matchday program The Full90 from the early years.

28% is owned by the company of Pirtek founder Peter Duncan and his son Glenn, who sits on the club's board. Lederer said in June he would keep his stake in the Wanderers, but one of the other shareholders would become chair.

Whatever Wikipedia might say, the club confirmed this week that no chair has yet been appointed. According to analysis of ASIC records, the investment companies of the Lederer and Cheng families currently own 36% of the club each.

The 58-year-old (or maybe 59 . he has two birthdays listed on ASIC) ended his long association with the Philippines WNT in June. Soon after, Alen Stajcic, who coached them at the World Cup, was appointed Wanderers coach. It seemed to be Cheng's move, but he is not chair yet.

It was 10 days after the club was sanctioned by FA for the behaviour of fans, staff and officials against the Jets. Penalties included a $5,000 fine, and promises of more sanctions for future code of conduct breaches. Who's replacing Lederer? Wikipedia says Jefferson Cheng.

One thing to watch for this weekend in the A-League Men. Who now sits on the Western Sydney Wanderers throne?. Paul Lederer stepped down as chair on 14 June "due to personal family matters and ever-increasing global business commitments". But his decision came amid controversy.

Extraordinary stuff here. The workers were building the 30m high platform with scaffolding stored in the water. Divers complained it was swaying too much.

Bulldogs media rep just pointed out this is the highest crowd in Vic this season. (Perhaps apart from MCG double header.) Very strong turnout, great vibe on the hill.
