Can’t turn on ESPN without seeing or hearing about gambling. It’s not a shocker players are getting caught when gambling is how people talk about them now. Obviously bad move from Clase if true. But betting stuff is promoted by MLB/teams. You think the players are naive to it?.

Having the All-Star game in Atlanta and playing in the most attended game ever at Bristol Motor Speedway is awesome. It is a bummer that it’s happening during the 2025 season, though.

Can’t throw in All-Star selections to compare careers or make HOF cases anymore if selections are about ratings over production.

At this point, just get rid of student-athletes/amateurism, form a professional league with teams that represent colleges, and employ professional athletes to play for the school’s team. No gray area and no pretending that this is amateur sports.

Have to give some props to Landry Fields. Last three big moves:.1) Traded Dejounte Murray and his contract for Dyson Daniels.3) Extended Jalen Johnson.2) Traded DeAndre Hunter and his contract for cap space and assets used to get Porzingis/NAW/Kennard.
I know a lot of people didn't like the Hunter trade when it happened. My main takeaway is that the final grade of that deal was dependent on how they used the flexibility this summer and beyond. Well. they added Kristaps Porzingis and Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

Dude is going to have a target on his back league-wide. Don’t really think his “agent”/team thought through this. You’re 18, have never played an NBA game, and have a $40+ million contract waiting for you. What makes you special from the thousands that came before you?.
The Jazz will not acquiesce to Ace Bailey’s demands, per @WindhorstESPN. If necessary, Utah is willing to wait it out as long as possible until Bailey realizes this is his only NBA team. The Bailey saga continues on as Utah hopes he arrives on Monday.

I think a problem when it comes to MLB voting is too many assume that current metrics account for everything and are objective measures of value. -What about the value of leading a pitching staff? Game planning, calling pitches, mound visits, etc.

I really don’t even care what he said. In the regular season, coaches on National TV torment umpires relentlessly for nine innings and even will cause delays to argue. But it’s near impossible to get thrown out. Why do they only have a quick hook in the title game?.
“You missed three pitches” does not qualify as one of those combinations. If this is all it took for Kevin Schnall to get ejected, that is absurd.

Kurtz will be a very special player. Hitting a 94 MPH middle-in fastball 400ft to LCF is ridiculous. And he makes it look easy.

Hard to compare… but Cal Raleigh being a top 3 hitter in MLB, as a switch-hitter, while being an elite defensive catcher that plays everyday has to approach Shohei two-way level value.
Cal Raleigh now has more homers than ANY catcher before the all-star break in MLB history. 29 homers and it's only June 20th
