Great news!! @UPTuks is a partner of this phase of DARA, and we are looking forward to welcoming students for their training at UP next week!
The DARA project, backed by the University of Leeds and supported by the OAD, received a Β£6.5m funding boost! π Over 8 years, DARA has trained 300+ students in 8 countries, empowering them with skills in radio astronomy and data science to tackle local development challenges. π

It's pretty important for modern interferometers as these are typically core-dominated. We also provide some solutions to fix for this effect in your data ofc! :)

The TL;DR is there's a significant flux density systematic error if you use restored images (typically from CLEAN-style deconvolution algorithms) for science. It's been known for ages but rarely corrected for, so the paper aims to bring this back to the attention of the community
