What did you learn this year that made you a better investor? I’ll go first: 1. The trend is your friend. 2. Making money > being right 3. Everyone’s wrong sometimes. Take a small loss and move on. Takeaway: Strong fundamentals + momentum can be life changing.

$SPY and $QQQ are just grinding inside last Friday’s candle. We saw a similar setup last December. Big sell day, then two months of chop before the real move. Doesn’t have to crash this time. Just a reminder that chop is an option and extremely normal.

$RSP reclaimed the 50-SMA while $DJI and most sectorsI track are green. This is a tech/mega cap pullback. $SPY $QQQ

They’ve been puking $RACE for days. Could at least be good for a dead cat bounce. I’m looking for a close with an indecision or hammer candle and have a starter from this morning. Just a little bottom fishing because I enjoy it, and they don’t puke stocks like this every day.

A dangerous trading behavior is using open profits to further fund more speculative bets, thinking the worst that could happen is for the fluff to move against you. More often than not it takes panic to break trends and unfortunately thats exactly when the correlation between

$SMH is running a little hot. On weakness I’m thinking it sees $316 to $290. But markets do what they want, so it’s best to be prepared for all scenarios. $SMH basically lived outside the upper monthly bollinger band from July 2020 to Jan 2021.

Loving this move higher in $RSP. Broadening out is exactly what this rally needs. Tech can’t carry it forever. If $RSP keeps running, the bears are cooked. 🐻 $SPY $QQQ

$SMH monthly: —Outside the upper BB —RSI pushing 80 —Correction risk elevated Doesn’t mean the top is in, but the risk of a correction is elevated. Looking for potential rotation. $RSP could be ready.

I’m always looking for red flags. 🚩 But what I see is $RSP with the potential for a big move higher. Look at the monthly vs early 2021. A break higher would be very healthy for the new bull market theory. $SPY $QQQ

The bull case for AMZN is high margin tech. But staples are good for stability and valuation. See: $COST and $WMT vs $TGT, which has significant exposure to discretionary.
Costco has Kirkland ... Amazon now has Amazon Grocery Amazon $AMZN just announced the launch of Amazon Grocery: "a new private label brand featuring more than 1,000 high-quality food items rated 4 stars or above."

Feels like everyone’s hunting the top. $SPY doesn’t care. It could pull back here, or grind until weekly RSI hits 78+. Both would be perfectly in line with history.

PFAS-free is a big deal in semiconductors. Getting rid of “forever chemicals” seems like a clear win, right? Turns out it’s probably greenwashing: 🧵1/10

$AAPL topped in December before hitting $4T. It just had a very significant correction, and I wouldn’t count on another of that magnitude at $4T. But who knows? Maybe this is the blowoff top everyone on X is talking about.
$AAPL corrected 20% or more after hitting $1 trillion, $2 trillion, and $3 trillion for the first time. Topping is a process. Will $4 trillion be different?

Lot of great comments on this post. If you like bottom fishing, there are probably some good ideas here.
What's your best idea that has a negative YTD performance? Ideally, 2-3 sentences explaining. When everyone is victory dancing their multi-baggers, I want to hear from folks with conviction and doubling down on their underperformers.

The smartest thing I did in late 2021 was sell my shitcos when the leaders started breaking down. That’s how I locked in the equivalent of 5-6 years of living expenses. I really expected to regret selling stocks that ran hundreds of percent in a year or two. Didn’t happen.
If you made incredible money this past month, congrats but remember 2021. Everyone felt like geniuses then… and most gave it all back in 2022. Stocks don’t always go up. Right now is one of the easiest times to make money, but the market will humble you if you get greedy.

$SPY and $QQQ weekly RSI hit 70, just in time for next week which is apparently the most bearish of the year. I’m thinking the next move is a buyable dip, but I’m ready for anything.

For the disappointed $LULU investors. Beaten down retailers can get extremely cheap. Think single digit PE. That’s why stocks like $AEO can rally so hard on earnings. I am extremely selective and ALWAYS size for a 20% drop after earnings. It happens a lot.
