Was thrilled to have graduation today roughly a year after I passed my PhD viva! It was very special sharing it with both @LouBell and @HorusofNekhen, along with my wonderful supervisors pictured here Kenneth Moore and Rachel Carroll. @HistoryTeesside @TeessideUni
Honoured to have attended Dr. @DisabledArchaeo's graduation at Teesside University today. Great to celebrate her outstanding achievements - and toast the guaranteed success of her future work - alongside her supervisors and @LouBell. Congratulations, Alexandra! Proud of you 🥳🤗

A disastrous night for the UK and its international reputation. All five votes lost, including on protections for children and on modern slavery. Shameful. We were finished by 1230am.

Campaigners lose their court battle with government over its decision not to implement evacuation plans for disabled residents. It means society prioritises money over disabled people's lives and leaves people in high-rise buildings without means of escape

A judge says the government was entitled not to adopt escape plans for disabled high-rise residents.

If this Government’s outright onslaught on British liberties - restricting our right to protest, robbing millions of workers of their right to strike & stripping back human rights doesn’t terrify you it damn well should! If you watch just one thing today please make it this!

🧵 Millions of people across the UK, like Amanda, Kevin and Matt, are facing hunger. Despite living in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, 1 in 7 people in the UK face hunger due to a lack of money. But it doesn’t have to be this way for anyone.

…others like it, are necessary. People are dying because of the impacts of underfunding, under-resourcing, and privatisation. I find The Guardian’s behaviour deeply alarming🚨

Though it has detractors, scholars and advocates have largely embraced "Freaks" for the way it shows people just living their lives while disabled.

Does anyone in our wide-spread network know who this is? This thug attacked a girl (young woman?) on a Jubilee platform 2 days ago. It looks like KILBURN stop. Please share to help Zoe’s sister and the @metpoliceuk (!) identify that violent bastard🤬

This Tory govt has destroyed our trust in our democracy according to a big poll. ONLY 6% trust our political system of democracy. HUGE 89% want constitutional reform. Trust has plummeted massively since Johnson became PM General Election NOW

My sister was assaulted on her way home yesterday around NW on the Jubilee Line. He tried to intimidate her and when she started filming him for proof, he then attacked her. She's reported this to the police but if you recognise him please let me know.

The Home Office has abandoned asylum seekers with disabilities in a former care home. There are guards but no trained care staff. Some have been left without wheelchairs. One person has already died.
theguardian.com
The site, set up as a standard asylum seeker hotel, has no care workers or nurses there as part of the contract

@pritipatel There’s nothing ‘free’ about it. We had far greater freedoms and higher powered sovereignty before you bunch of corrupt cultists decided to jump on Farage’s grubby bandwagon to shore up your own power. But yes, you definitely ‘played your part’ in this shitshow. We won’t forget.
