I'm a bit floored by the news that Liz has died. A true champion of nursing and midwifery and always a source of wise counsel, challenge and support. She was great company too, witty, charming, warm and compassionate. Hard to believe such vibrancy has gone.
We are saddened to hear of the death of Professor Dame Elizabeth Fradd, Vice President of Together for Short Lives. Liz was kind and compassionate and a widely respected figure in the children’s palliative care sector. Our thoughts are with her loved ones. https://t.co/R5Gjy9eIBe

"It's not acceptable that we're relying on charitable donations to fund this lifeline crucial care." We were in Parliament today giving evidence about children's hospice funding to MPs because #ShortLivesCantWait - support our campaign now: https://t.co/9h9U8Ll3X3

🆕Today's #Budget24 from @hmtreasury provides no clarity on future funding for seriously ill children. For them, time is short – and they needed urgent action now. Read our reaction from our chief executive @itsandyfletch 👉 https://t.co/s5Zx0pWvzc

Despite some positive news, Budget 2024 was a missed opportunity for the Chancellor to provide sustainable, long-term funding to fill gaps in underfunded and understaffed children’s palliative care...

Thank you @bbc5live for having me on to discuss energy costs for families of medically complex children. Cruel reality that they face massive bills to run equipment which keeps their children alive. Need Gov to look again at social tariffs to help families in need.
Our Chief Exec @itsandyfletch was on @bbc5live yesterday with grandmother Nicola, talking about why today’s @ofgem cap decrease doesn’t make a meaningful difference to families caring for seriously ill children. You can listen back here (from 1:08:54) 👇

Just caught up on a beautiful and moving Desert Island Discs with Jamie Dornan. As a teenager who lost their mum, so much resonated. The grief, the guilt at not remembering, the love of family. Great music choices. And Brilliantly handled too @laurenlaverne.
“I’m really grateful for those words” Our latest castaway to the desert island is Jamie Dornan. In this deeply emotional interview, Jamie speaks to @laurenlaverne about how he dealt with his mother’s death at such a young age. Desert Island Discs | Listen on BBC Sounds

Spot on @tobyhporter .
Thank you @RishiSunak for your long-term support of @HHHomecare , a fantastic hospice helping patients and families across your part of Yorkshire. As PM, however, you can safeguard this and all other local hospice services for a generation (1/4)

Been off twitter for a bit, hence the delay. But can think of fewer more deserved recipients than the fabulous @KateLeeCEO . Many congratulations.
Huge congratulations to our Chief Exec Kate Lee who has been awarded an OBE as part of the New Year Honours for her services to charity. 💙 @KateLeeCEO

First swim in Britain's oldest lido @Clevelandpools. And it is amazing. Built in 1815. Closed for nearly 40 years. Beautifully restored. A testament to what can happen with passionate volunteers, engaged community and heritage funding. Thank you to all who made it happen 🙌

I first saw @blurofficial when I was 20. They were magnificent. Seen them many times since and they have been magnificent. But last night at Wembley might be the most magnificent yet. Brilliant.

Thank you @ExpressGilo for shining a light on the importance of children's hospice funding. Vital that the £25 million grant not only continues but is also directly distributed by @NHSEngland 👇👇👇
Today in @Daily_Express @ExpressGilo we hear from Manraj whose son Arjun was cared for @MartinHouseCH. She explains how vital their support was and why our petition to save the Children's Hospice Grant is so crucial #SaveTheGrant. Read/sign👇 https://t.co/BeayT9xjJy

Really significant report shows nearly 25% increase in number of children with life limiting conditions in Wales in the last decade. Many living with greater medical complexity. Big challenge for government, health boards and providers. @tyhafan @HHTGhospices @lornafraser10
Is Wales ready? A report launched today shows the number of children with life-limiting conditions is rising dramatically. Wales’ two children’s hospice charities need sustainable funding now to meet this unprecedented demand > https://t.co/7JrmNhE9Ex

Thank you Britt for speaking to Parliamentarians today about the role children's hospices play in your family life and why the CH Grant is so crucial.
For mum Britt, the prospect of cuts to vital children’s hospice services is unacceptable. We agree. That’s why we’re calling on the Gov and @NHSEngland to maintain the £25m Children’s Hospice Grant. Sign the petition, #SaveTheGrant, protect our hospices: https://t.co/RbFeufuBcw
