Found this tiger beetle (& many more) on the beach (Ellipsoptera lepida?). I’ve visited this beach my whole entire life and have never seen these beetles here. What’s changed? The city implemented a dune restoration project. Used to be flat barren sand. Habitat restoration #FTW

It is a good compliment to the physical collection I made. And is great because others can contribute rather easily! Not to mention the ID help in a place where ID resources are limited.

Yes I started an @inaturalist project at the @COREBorneo Tuanan orangutan research station in indonesia. It has been so great to gather observations in a place where collections are difficult bc humidity (90%), temp, & electricity.
Our 2nd symposium of the day is all about iNaturalist… “a mutually beneficial tool or a plaything for amateurs?” So we’re interested to hear from you on this. If you’re a collection manager or a researcher or student working closely with a collection, do you use iNat?
