TW: hospital abuse and neglect This is utterly horrifying. Please email if you can. “Savannah is asking for anyone who can to email the chief medical director at the hospital. The Canary has drafted a template email, which can be sent as is, or adapted”

alternatives for socialising online - moderated spaces that filter out harmful content for example - then banning them from social media could serve to further isolate kids who are already feeling alone irl despite their best efforts to have friends/a social life. /3

I understand that the social media landscape is vastly different now than it was in 2011, but I still worry for the kids who would be cut off from their support system by something like this. data protection risks aside, if you aren’t going to provide kids with safe /2

making friends online probably saved my life when I was 13-15. I was being bullied at school and felt so isolated, then became housebound from chronic illness at age 13 and was very literally isolated. I’m still in touch with my first online friend from back then. /1

NATIONAL EMERGENCY - SAVE JURY TRIALS Once Lammy / Starmer get away with reducing jury trial by 50% it will be a short and greasy slope to the 95% cut he originally wanted, before the backlash, and before long our sacred, ancient and trusted system of jury trial will be a

about it. the psychiatrist has yet to write to me like she said she would, and the letter on my file is one that I’m not allowed copy of without her permission. this is also how I know she’s on annual leave, because the secretary phoned to ask if I could have a copy and that was

NHS psychiatrists never fail to prove how little respect they have for patients. after an appointment a few weeks ago where she violated the nice guidelines that we GAVE HER A COPY OF THEM AHEAD OF TIME (not the whole thing, just a few of the relevant pages). she then waited 2

the "this isn't fun anymore" reactions to the epstein stuff really highlight how much people have damaged their brains with true crime bullshit, the victims of abusers and murderers just become total abstractions while listening to some dork reciting a wikipedia entry

2025 brought big new clues about Long COVID and ME/CFS: Genes tied to risk, immune and clotting changes, PEM findings, possible blood tests, and brain changes. Here is an end of year round up in plain language.

Oh please this has been happening every day all year round for years. The NHS is broken & it’s got nothing to do with strikes.
ITV News has filmed patients being treated in hospital corridors, hours before tens of thousands of resident doctors in England walked out on strike. So-called “corridor care” is happening in many hospitals across the country as the NHS struggles to cope with rising demand.

much anger at the way ME patients continue to be failed by systems meant (in theory) to help us. it didn’t have to be this way. my deepest condolences to those of you who were close to her. ❤️

I didn’t know Megan well, but I’m truly heartbroken to learn of her death. some of her tweets felt like they were taken straight from my own brain - having to give up making art because of illness, not knowing if she’d ever see the sea again. I feel not just grief but also so
