@DavidSHolz @xenocosmography #2 is destroyed by this insane spending bill. What good is Doge saving $160B when this bill increases the debt ceiling by $5T? It makes mockery of the work.

I lived a 10-minute walk from what was considered one of the most unsafe train stations in Amsterdam (and in the Netherlands) for 3.5 years. I walked home, sometimes in the middle of the night, almost daily, or at least weekly. Nothing ever happened to me. I still wouldn’t call.

I think some people have a hard time grasping just how safe countries like Switzerland, Norway, and the Netherlands etc are compared to the US and global averages. This is not a “dig” at the US I know there’s safe places there and I know who the usual suspects are in the unsafe.

Unironically, yes. There are zero. There are more unpleasant neigborhoods sure but none where it would be “unsafe” to walk during the day and for the most part even during the night. But the Netherlands has one of the lowest murder and general crime rates in the world fyi.
@isa2001m There are zero migrant ghettos in Dutch cities that you wouldn’t travel to?.
