The arts are a cheaper way to promote Ireland than hiring consultants. I could take on more work as a full timer. It isn't a free lunch, it isn't state control of the arts. It is a basis to sell arts on the free market. The state would get a return on extre income generated.

An objective criteria would mean that I could be given time to write what I want. My writing would still have to be sold on the market. I would still be dependent on the readers to buy my books. Basic income would benefit local businesses and the arts.

At present I don't receive state support as an author. Other sectors like farming do get support. Basic income would allow me to be a writer full time. It is a taxable income, the government will receive tax. ++++
