🇨🇦 Q2 GDP: –1.6% (exports choked by U.S. tariffs).🇺🇸 Q2 GDP: +3.3% (big rebound on strong demand). But hey, Canadians feel stronger. Maybe we should start measuring GDP in vibes instead of dollars. #cdnecon #economy #GDP.

@irbrodie I would generally agree but, if you’re a student, those people have the power to make your life unliveable and, if you disagree with them publicly, you can be sure they will do that.

your fellow students. Be open to learning from everyone. Don’t ever judge someone based on a single tweet. This prof is the heir to Sam Noumoff, from whom I learned many things. And then, yeah, live yourself a good life, make a ton of money if you want, and endow a chair.

McGill alum here. This tweet provides bad advice in my opinion. Why go to university at all if all you are going to learn is to belittle and mock people? I say, do the opposite. Learn that there are serious people with other opinions. Challenge them seriously. Make the effort to.

To students en route to McGill University, just remember, you don't have to take these professors seriously. They are losers. Mock and belittle them in class. Laugh at them. Then get a real job outside of the academy and actually achieve things in the world.

In 100 days, the original inter provincial pipeline was approved with legislation on the eve of a federal election, permitted, and was already under construction on its way to Wisconsin.

Yet 100 days into his term and Mark Carney hasn’t built one damn pipeline! As always, @Sean_Speer keeping it real.

Looking forward to attending the @ubc_ccl fall conference, which has a superb set of speakers at a smaller workshop - and Supreme Court of Canada Justice Mary Moreau is giving a public lecture during the conference - the @ubc_ccl adds so much to @ubcokanagan!!.

Jimmy Lai fought for freedom in Hong Kong, marching in demonstrations and starting a pro-democracy paper. The Chinese government is about to imprison him for life after subjecting him to more than 1,600 days in solitary confinement, @RobertSirico writes.

I believe both these things are true: . 1 - Flight attendants should receive ground pay (when FAs aren't in the air but are working). 2 - Canada desperately needs more domestic airline competition, to break the near duopoly that exists in domestic air travel.

Given the high inflation of the past few years and the economic dislocation of trade wars, the invisible hand needs to reset the price of all sorts of goods including labour. Arbitration awards help in the short term, but eventually the price of this upheaval will be paid.

Is the Conservative Party still backing CUPE now the union is in an illegal strike position? The real question in this dispute is: do we want a stronger, more robust economy, or do we want to be Italy?.
