My Locks & Keys story was inspired by the wood block prints from Edo period Japan. My main character, Kel, is a stranger to this world but confronts it head on for her people. I'm really happy with this piece and can't wait to share it with y'all. ARC signups are still open

No. We shouldn't reserve praise for "depressing" books & def shouldn't seek to reward the grotesque for "uniqueness". But repressing the darker writing of others is denying them a voice, which may be all they have. If it makes you uncomfortable, look away. That's a you problem.
i’m strongly against people writing devastatingly depressing books that then get loads of critical acclaim and endorsement for their “great writing”. if you can produce “great writing” maybe don’t install harmful mind viruses into everyone who picks up your book. just a thought.
