I know. I am just asking them not to make baseless claims about us. As a community, we may want to avoid hostility from our side considering that many Sikhs (even at the risk of getting cancelled) still worship Hindu Gods and visit our temples. History has both kinds of Sikhs.

I didn't suggest paying respect or not paying respect. I personally am indifferent to their whole religion. Just not interested. We have enough and more sampradayik gurus and acharyas to look up to.

Hallmark missionary religion: if any land once ruled by a nominally Sikh (actually mostly Hindu) king Ranjit Singh, even though Vaidika land for millennia, gets fixed in Khalistani mindset as Sikh forever & they work towards partitioning Vaidika land like Chrislam ever conspires.
