No doubt about the fact that it was She who saved us from the unspeakable horror that the rākśasa majority was planning to unleash on us. It's a tragedy that even this tiny but crucial bit of information has not been transferred to the generation of KPs born outside the valley.

As a Kashmiri Hindu I cannot stop thinking of my family's exodus amidst the turmoil of 90s. In many ways it was a miracle how we managed to escape and the surprising ways in which help arrived to us to make it out of the valley. If it was not for Bhagwati, then who, I think.

Very important thread to read and reflect on the role of Shankaracharyas in preservation of Dharma for over a thousand years. It is unfortunate that Dharma-illiterate political Hindus question the role and place of Dharmacharyas in Hindu society today.

The Shankaracharya tradition wields more influence on Hindus than you realize. Many popular movements can be traced ultimately to this parampara… Ramakrishna & SV Yogananda Sivananda Mahesh Yogi Chinmayananda Dayananda of Arya Samaj Sri Sri etc A🧵 (4 Shankaracharyas, 1979)

Caste conceptually overlaps with jāti to the extent of its basis in endogamy. However, the two diverge greatly in how they relate to socio-economic realities. Caste is a wrongly imagined hierarchy, an exploitative pyramid. Jāti is an organic web of interdependent groups.

Caste may be a European *word*, but it is a Hindu *concept*: it merely is a translation of "jāti", nothing else. As I have had to experience up close in the Swastika debate, Hindu often think they can solve real problems on the cheap by means of merely verbal acrobatics.

Yuga Dharma is not a modular kitchen. The onus is on us to take the trouble of understanding it rather than imposing personal ideas on the tradition. The way of Dharma is to branch off into a sampradaya that avoids a particularly difficult ask, rather than pissing on the roots.

1. All authoritative purvāchāryas have unanimously endorsed birth-based varna. 2. Varna related to adhikāra in a narrow set of vedic texts & rituals. 3. In many sampradāyas (including mine), dīksha is given without varnabheda. They don't change definition of Varna like modern H.
